UK based lubricants manufacturer – supply chain strategy for UK and Ireland

The industry is mature and suffering from a declining market trend. Costs, and particularly logistics costs, are therefore vital for competitive survival and the client’s cost structure was amongst the highest in the industry. The project was to develop a new logistics strategy which would address this. The solution involved a segmented approach to customer service and a restructuring of the logistics operations. An important element was to lay the foundations for a collaborative joint venture with a competitor.
