Swiss-based chemicals company - pan-European Logistics strategy

The project was to develop an improved logistics strategy for the company’s operations in Europe, designed to achieve cost leadership and address failing customer service. A team of 6 consultants and 8 client staff was assembled to carry out the work which was 3 stages. Stage one focussed on fact finding to gather all relevant data around costs, customers and deliveries. In stage two a computer model was developed to simulate the client’s supply chain and calculate the optimum structure. In stage three a process was undertaken to evaluate 3 PL contractors to assess which would be the most suitable to help the company implement the chosen strategy.
