£10bn Multinational distributor and retailer of building products- UK and Ireland supply chain strategy

The company’s legacy systems were deemed inappropriate to support it through a period of planned dynamic growth and cost reduction. It had also recently undergone a change in its third party logistics support partner, providing both threats and opportunities for customer service and cost control. The project involved the implementation of a full suite of supply chain and finance modules of SAP retailing, and integrating these with the 3PL’s warehouse management systems (RED Prairie) together with other external software operated by freight forwarders. Stephen led the client’s business implementation team, reporting to the CIO (project director), and working closely with other business directors and an external systems integrator. The project was delivered on time and on budget, paving the way to annual savings of over £10m.
